“Bad Food” Avoider

But Shay, I thought eating healthy is a good thing? You’re right, it absolutely is, but when we take clean eating too far and deprive ourselves of the foods we genuinely love, that’s when things start to backfire…

Keep reading and I’ll explain why avoiding “bad foods” may be hurting your fat loss progress and changes you can make to see more sustainable results.

Does this sound like you?

✔️ You cut out foods like bread, pasta, cookies and cake because you fear these foods will cause you to gain weight.

✔️ You feel guilty if you allow yourself to eat things like pizza and French fries because they are “bad” for you and your progress.

✔️ You restrict the foods and treats you love but are constantly thinking about them and craving them. You can’t keep these types of foods in the house because you feel like you don’t have self control around them.

✔️ You find that because you’re avoiding these “fun” foods when you do eventually allow yourself to have the carbs or sweets you tend to go overboard by overindulging and then feel like you need to “make up” for eating too much.

Don’t worry, I’ve been there too. But the great news is, it doesn’t have to be this way!

With a few small adjustments, you CAN:

  • Learn how to incorporate all the foods you love (yes, carbs and sweets included) on a regular basis while still making incredible progress.

  • Fully enjoy pizza night, happy hour or a dessert table without going overboard.

  • Experience MORE progress without fighting your cravings.

This is all possible for you.

This is all possible for you.

 Live Life in Balance

You may be thinking to yourself “But I have always lost weight before by just cutting out these types of foods, why not just do it again?” - and to that I’d say… If it worked so well in the past, why did the weight come back on? I don’t say this to call you out, I say this to help you recognize that the only way to ensure you’re able to KEEP the weight off, is following a sustainable and enjoyable plan from the get-go.

Here we are all about BALANCE. Learning how to incorporate all your favorite foods and drinks in moderation so you can both ENJOY the food you’re eating and CRUSH your body composition goals (both can simultaneously exist). Take it from these women:

The truth is, if the methods aren’t sustainable, the results won’t be either.

Which means it is essential that you learn how to lose weight WHILE incorporating all the foods you love so you can feel confident about never having to lose weight again.

Keep reading and I’ll show you the exact steps you need to follow in order to gain control of your cravings and see the power that balanced nutrition has on your progress.

Are you ready to FINALLY find a nutrition plan that allows you to have both nutritious food AND fun food so you can finally get the lasting results you desire?

It all starts by focusing on 3 main things:

1.

Use the 80/20 rule to help guide your food choices.

Try to focus on building 80% of your meals and snacks for the day with real, whole, nutrient dense food. But be sure to sprinkling in the fun stuff the other 20% of your day with the treats and snacks you love.

2.

Pre-log in several snacks/treats/foods you love every single day (yes, really!).

This will help you see that you CAN enjoy these types of foods on a regular basis, but in a way that still lives up to your daily nutrition goals.

For example: every single day I eat a row of dark chocolate, a serving of potato chips and an ice cream bar. This helps to decrease my cravings for these foods because I’m having them regularly AND I feel more in control around these foods because I no longer have the urge to binge on them since I have them to look forward to on a daily basis.

3.

Tracking your consistency.

what gets tracked gets managed.

Holding yourself accountable to your goals is key for consistency! So many times we know what we need to be doing, but we struggle with the follow through… But using a habit tracker can drastically increase your nutrition, movement and habit adherence. Grab a copy of our free habit tracker below!

Imagine what it would feel like if you could…

→ Enjoy wine night with the girls, pizza with friends or date night without stress or guilt from going overboard.

→ Get results without needing to cut out carbs, dessert or alcohol.

→ Enjoy all your favorite foods in a balanced way while still seeing progress.

You CAN have both - the ability to look & feel your best without having to give up all the things you enjoy in life.

The balanced lifestyle approach that we teach WORKS.

You may be wondering, “Who’s the girl dropping all the nutrition knowledge?”

Hi, I’m Shay!

I’m a nutrition coach who helps women look and feel their best without overhauling their entire lives or giving up their favorite foods. I’ve achieved my own transformation by implementing more balance into my lifestyle - and now I help other women do the same.

But I haven’t always had this type of balance in my life. I used to struggle with my weight and relationship with food. I spent YEARS spinning my wheels trying different restrictive diets and extreme exercise programs that only left me feeling more stuck.

It wasn’t until I discovered flexible dieting, macro tracking and strength training - and most importantly, incorporating these things in a balanced, sustainable way - that my body (and life) started to transform the way I had always dreamed of.

And now I’m here to help YOU lose weight, tone up and improve your relationship with food in a non-restrictive way so you can maintain your results forever!

“On a whim, after getting engaged, I decided I would try Life in Balance after following Shay for more than a year on social media. I thought, "If I could just lose 10 lbs before the wedding, I know I'd feel better." Well... I've lost more than 20 lbs in the past 8 months and I've learned an entirely new way to live.

Because of Shay and Life in Balance, I know how to properly fuel my body without sacrificing carbs, dessert, and mayonnaise! It's been a dream really. I'm so thankful that when I walk down the aisle in two weeks, I can be proud of how hard I worked to get to a mental space of strength and confidence while losing a few pounds along the way.”
